LAST SURPRISE
YOU NEVER SEE IT COMING

Bio
Name: Vincent Hall
Gender: Male; He/Him
Age: 23
Affiliation: White Veils

Personality:
+A Friend to All: The first thing you’ll notice about Vincent is that he’s friendly. Very mild mannered and kind, he’s most in his element when he’s around people. He can talk about anything, small or big, and he always seems to have an opinion on everything (you tend to develop them when you make so many friends!). That "all" bit isn’t an exaggeration either. Vincent likes everyone from the start, and it’s nearly impossible to get on this guy’s bad side. If you’re a bad guy, you’re not a bad person! You just need some guidance: a friend who won’t judge you. Vincent will be that friend.

+Knowledge is Power: Vincent is smart, which he believes is nature’s way of compensating him for making him so out of shape and cowardly. He’s always got his nose in a new book, hobby, or skill. Vincent is a fast learner too. Coupled with his diligence, his talent for learning makes him one of the brightest people you'll ever meet. This is something he is well aware of and may try to use to strengthen his arguments. At the same time, this makes failure a rarity for him, and as such, he doesn't handle failure very well.

~Curiosity killed the Skitty: Vincent knows this better than anyone, and even when he thinks he’s learned his lesson, the man can’t seem to keep his nose out trouble. On the positive side of things, Vincent’s curiosity has allowed him to discover new friends and opportunities. On the downside, it’s gotten him into many compromising situations. At best, he gets a slap on the wrist and goes home. At worst he’s incurred the wrath of a gang. He is not happy about either situation.

~Okay Mom:
You'll start to notice this the closer you get to Vincent. He's that friend. He’s making sure you studied properly before he hangs out with you. He’ll nag you about your messy room. He'll organize your spice cabinet when you're not looking. He'll make sure you're home before curfew. But he also washed your dishes before he left your house. He has extra tissues and hand sanitizer on his person at all times. He’s free to call at 2:00 AM when you’re an emotional wreck.

~Thou shall not kill: Heroes preserve life, which means they shouldn’t take life. Vincent’s very strict moral code has been cultivated from the superhero shows he loves. While these morals were made with good intentions, they are somewhat unrealistic. Not everyone can be pleased, and Vincent has a hard time understanding this concept. He swears he will never take the life of another, and it deeply bothers and unnerves Vincent to know that others can and would. And even though he swears he could never take someone's life, he's never been a position that's forced him to compromise his morals... it's hard to say if Vincent's character will prevail, or if his nerves will get the best of him.

-It’s my way…: Or it's not right. Vincent's vast wealth of knowledge gives him a sort of "I know more than you, so you should listen to me," attitude. It creeps into certain interactions, mostly with peers. He's very vocal about this with friends, critiquing them as they work or pressing to take over doing something if he thinks they can't handle it. On the other hand, his cowardice clamps his mouth shut when it comes to strangers or a stern threat from just about anyone. Though silent, Vincent will continue to mentally knit pick your process until the job is done, and he has a tendency to silently judge people and remember their mistakes.

-If I only had the Nerve: It’s the one thing that keeps this model citizen from becoming a model cop. Because Vincent lacks physical strength, he also lacks the mental strength needed to enforce the morals he holds so dear. Strangers will find him easy to scare off if they're intimidating enough, and even certain awkward situations or bad company can send the man running. Friends get to see a more confident side, but it's not much of an improvement. Though he may object at first, Vincent can easily be peer pressured into a party or a road trip he'd rather skip. He doesn't want to be a killjoy right out the door!

History:
Just nestled between the outskirts of Castelia City and the sandstorms of Route 4 was a settlement of lowly construction workers who were employed to keep the city booming. One of these settled families were known as the Halls: Clint, Zell, Griffin, Vincent. Mira Hall, sadly, passed not long after having Vincent. Clint took on the role of both father and mother for his 3 boys, and even then, his time with them was limited. The three were mostly left to their own devices, with Zell becoming the leader of the bunch because he was the oldest. Griffin was the petty middle child who liked to cause trouble, while Vincent was the baby brother. Their family wasn’t ideal, but it somehow survived.

Vincent, being so small and frail, kept himself shut in watching TV. When they weren’t in school, his brothers would drag Vincent out to explore Castelia City, where they usually goaded him into doing stupid stunts to prove his “manhood.” Little Vinny was weak-willed to refuse and too prideful to back out. He had done a lot of strange things because of his brother’s peer pressure: he climbed a tree and knocked down a Beedrill hive, he once swallowed a quarter for a dollar, and he even explored a few abandoned construction sites. One little adventure lead to a haunting: A stray Rotom followed Vinny home and haunted the Hall’s house for a week. Said Rotom ended up becoming Vincent’s first pokemon.

In high school, Vincent blossomed academically. While Zell dropped out, and Griffin was cruising on through in the easiest classes, Vincent challenged himself with AP and honor courses. He graduated in the top 10 of his class, paving the way for a promising college career. But Vincent had his mind set on other goals. Inspired by the shows he adored as a child, Vincent wanted to become a policeman. He already had an academy picked out, and he was set to start his training that summer.

He lasted a week. He was forced to drop out after he had an asthma attack during morning warmups.

Vincent was horribly put out by this blunder. He returned home jobless and with no college degree to speak of, and he wasn’t sure if he had the heart to pursue something else. At the insistence of his father, he started small and began going to a community college for a computer science degree. He soon found himself sinking into a daily slog through school work. He was functional, but he wasn’t optimal. Then, one day, Vincent's life was completely uprooted.

Loud bangs, bright lights, natural disasters: A breathtaking but deadly meteor shower herald the end of Vincent's normal life. The event felt like the rapture, and it lasted for days. A massive earthquake leveled half of the settlement, injuring many and killing 4 people. Zell and Griffin had since moved out, and Clint was lucky enough to have Vincent with him when the disaster struck. With nowhere to go, Clint and Vincent stayed behind to help the survivors. It was during a blustery summer night that Vincent found his mask, buried in the sand.

Suddenly, Vincent was confident and strong. He took the lead in providing aid and containing the disaster. He became a local legend over the course of a night. But this new man disappeared as fast as he arrived. Because the man became a hero wasn’t the Vincent everyone knew. In fact, no one could recognize him in his new form. It puzzled him at first, but in the moment he didn't even question why he was a stranger to them. It wasn't until he caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of a car's window that he realized he changed. This wasn’t just a chance encounter: it was destiny. This mask let Vincent be the hero he always wanted to be.

From there, Vincent found himself swept up in an exciting new saga. By day, he was Vinny Hall: computer science student. By night, he became a defender of justice: The Silver Hammer. His freelancing inevitably led him to learn about the White Veils, and someone as righteous as Vincent was eager to join. He and his father agreed to go their separate ways, now that the settlement was nothing more than ruins. Vincent moved to Opelucid City, living in a small apartment complex and searching for a new school. He’s also looking for some roommates.

Likes:
:bulletred: Conspiracy theories, ghosts, illuminati, cryptids, creepypasta.
:bulletred: Super hero and sentai shows, regardless of who the target audience is.
:bulletred: Coding and computers. Artificial intelligence is also super interesting to him.

Dislikes:
:bulletblack: Bullying or oppression of any sort.
:bulletblack: Sand. He’s lived in a sandstorm most of his life, no more sand please.
:bulletblack: Most physical activity.
:bulletblack: Confrontation.

Fears:
:bulletyellow: Heights, bees, and tight spaces. You can thank his brothers for that.
:bulletyellow: Failure. He’s not used to it, and dropping out from the academy still bothers him.
:bulletyellow: Being found out as The Silver Hammer. He knows he's probably made enemies in his alter ego, and like most heroes, having his secret identity compromised could put his loved ones in at risk.

Other:
:bulletwhite: Vincent has asthma.
:bulletwhite: Vincent still keeps in contact with his brothers and father. Clint has retired to Humilau City, Zell has moved to Hoenn with his girlfriend, and Griffin is in an intern in Goldenrod’s radio station. They get together during the winter holidays.
:bulletwhite: Vincent is farsighted, and his glasses are bifocals.

Pokemon Team:

Buzz: Rotom; Genderless; Level 15
Buzz was a little tag-a-long who followed Vincent home after encroaching on its territory. Since then they've formed a strong bond. When its trainer is Vincent, Buzz likes to help with his coding and cause trouble online. But when its trainer is The Silver Hammer, Buzz became his sidekick. Buzz is, like most Rotoms, mischievous. It likes to hide out in Vincent's phone.

Protect and Serve: A hero’s duty isn’t to destroy the evil, but to protect the good. As Vincent, this is something he fully understands and lives by! But he doesn’t exactly have the means to uphold it…but the Silver Hammer does. With his newfound physical strength, Vincent gains the resolution he needs to be the hero he as dreamed of becoming. As the Silver Hammer, Vincent is man of the law, and if you cross the law he will see that you face justice. However, don't let his serious nature fool you: Silver is still the wide-eyed idealist he was before! While stopping the bad guy is important to him, it should never be at the cost of those the law is meant to protect.

The Silver Hammer gives Vincent the strength and constitution to be the hero he always wanted. His asthma is no longer a problem when he wears the mask. Though he is short, he packs quite a punch. Still, this doesn’t make the Silver Hammer a tank. A decisive opponent with the right move set is more than enough to take him down. Silver is well aware of this and has decided to tailor his own move set to account for this. With the help of moves like Bulk Up and Metal Sound, Silver bides his time by whittling down his opponents, then striking when they leave him an opening.

Other:
:bulletblue: The Silver Hammer is a policeman! Kind of. Not really, but he looks like a policeman. He’s one in practice more than in theory.
:bulletblue: More to come as I rp!
